The Porte de Bagnolet is a frontier landscape, a space through which a clearly defined limit passes, separating the centre from the periphery. The limit was once marked by a city wall with fortifications, but this has now given way to the ring road which tightly hems in the capital. The film explores the differences- social, political and cultural – between Paris and its suburbs.
