During his term as Minister of Culture in Haiti, the director Raoul Peck put together this “video letter,” evoking the lassitude and sorrow of exile, bit terly addressing the state of affairs in a country wounded by “three hun dred years of resistance.” The diary of doubts and meditations of a man as citizen. “Dear Catherine” won the Prix Dokumenta 1997 and was selected for the Lugano Film Festival in 1997.
